Garmin has been out of stock of DC40 collars since the end of January and we were told they would be back in stock end of February.
Then the middle of February we were told that the Garmin DC40 collars were going to have an MRP (minimum retail price) of $229.99 effective March 1, 2014, and that our prices on the DC40 were going up as well. Then on February 21, at the end of the business day, we received an email from Garmin stating that immediately the DC40 MRP was in effect.
Then yesterday afternoon (02/26/14) we received a phone call from Garmin that effective immediately you could no longer order Garmin DC40 collars and that 2 of our shipments were cancelled. Surprised to say the least!
So where does that leave the current Garmin DC40 collar users? Just like the Garmin DC30 collar users, Garmin will continue to warranty the DC40 collar for at least the next couple of years. They will also continue to honor the 1 year-warranties for those that have purchased their collars within the last 12 months.
At the current time our prices will remain the same for trade-ins on both the Garmin DC30s and Garmin DC40s. We will work hard to continue to carry our used and refurbished Garmin DC40 collars for our customers.
Outdoor Dog Supply will continue to update for any new product developments .
