Q: What is the difference between the Barklimiter Deluxe and the Barklimiter 2 and Barklimiter 2VT?

A: The Garmin Barklimiter 2 and 2VT are bark collars that connect with the Garmin Canine App. The Barklimiter 2 has a tone, vibrate, stimulation, and a smart mode. The Barklimiter Deluxe only has stimulation and vibration. The Garmin Barklimiter 2VT is a Vibrate and Tone collar only, it does not have any stimulation.

Q: Is there a setting that gradually raises the level of stimulation on the Garmin Barklimiter Deluxe?

A:Yes, the Autorise Technology gradually raises the level of stimulation until the unnecessary barking is deterred. The Garmin Barklimiter 2 stimulation will gradually decrease overtime once the unnecessary barking is under control. The collar also allows a manual setting so that the level of intensity can be manually set by the handler.

Q: What do the different flashing lights mean?

A: If the Barklimiter 2 is flashing white, that means a bark was detected but the correction was not administered. If the color is red while flashing, a correction was administered after a bark was detected. If the red flashing continues while not correcting a bark, then the battery on the collar is low.

Q: The dog is still barking, what can be done to better correct the dog?

A:If the dog is still barking after the Barklimiter 2 has been turned on and is in the correction mode, the collar may be to lose. If the collar slides around on the dog’s neck, it is not tight enough. Moving the collar up on the dog’s neck close to the vocal cords will better enable the Barklimiter 2 or 2VT to pick up the barking. Finally if the readjustments did not work, gradually increase the intensity level until the barking stops.

Q: Syncing the Garmin Barklimiter 2 and Barklimiter 2VT with the Garmin Canine App.

A: To sync the two devices together, bring the collar and smartphone within 10 meters (33ft) of each other. Open the Garmin Canine app on the phone and the app will automatically sync data with the collar. To make sure the collar and app are synced, open “Current Data’ on the app to view the collars information.

Q: Fitting the Garmin Barklimiter 2 and 2VT to the dog

A: The Garmin Barklimiter 2 and Barklimiter 2VT should be snug on the dogs neck but not so tight that the dog cannot eat or drink water with difficulty. The device should not slide or move on the dog’s neck while in contact. The probes on the Barklimiter 2 should go within the dogs coat, to make sure of this wiggle the collar back and forth to get the probes through.
