Q: What kind of range should be expected out of the Dogtra Pathfinder?
A: The range of the Dogtra Pathfinder varies on terrain, seasons, weather, and surroundings. On average, a distance of 1 to 1.5 miles is seen out of the standard antenna. In wide open country the distance can be enhanced.
Q: Can the Dogtra Pathfinder track the collar without a smartphone?
A: No, in order to see where the dog is on a map a smartphone with the Dogtra Pathfinder App must be connected with the Pathfinder Handheld. The handheld and smartphone work together to track the dogs.
Q: Will the Dogtra Pathfinder still be able to track the dogs if there is no cell phone signal?
A: Yes, the Dogtra Pathfinder will operate anywhere, even if there is no cell phone signal.
Q: How much data is used on the smartphone while tracking or training with the Dogtra Pathfinder?
A:The Dogtra Pathfinder does not use any cellular data while being used. The system operates completely data free.
Q: Is there a Dogtra Pathfinder TRX Mini (Tracking only)?
A: No, the only mini collar for the Dogtra Pathfinder is the Tracking and Training collar
Q: Will the TRX collar work on a Dogtra Pathfinder Track and Train?

Q: Pairing the Cell Phone with the Dogtra Pathfinder Remote
A:Once the Pathfinder App is downloaded and opened on the smartphone, make sure the bluetooth is turned on in the phone. Turn the GPS connector on and bring the 2 devices within 33 feet. In the Pathfinder App, go to Menu, from there go to Settings, and finally Bluetooth Pairing. Set the GPS connector into Pairing Mode and click “Search” in the Pathfinder App. The systems will then automatically pair up from then on if they are turned on together within bluetooth range.
Q: Pairing Additional Pathfinder collars to the GPS Connector (Pathfinder Handheld)
A: To start pairing a Pathfinder Collar to the GPS Connector, start by turning the GPS Connector on and make sure the GPS collar is off. Press the “Select” button on the GPS Connector to set the LED to Collar. Hold down the Connect button for 5 seconds until the LED blinks rapidly and then release. Hold down the GPS Collar power button until the Lights blink rapidly and 3 beeps are heard. Once the collars are paired up, the LED lights will stop flashing rapidly.
Q: Fitting the Dogtra Pathfinder Collars correctly
A: The collar should be tight enough that it does not slide around on the dog’s neck but not so tight that the dog cannot eat or drink without ease. The Dogtra Pathfinder Tracking and Training collar should have the prongs against the dog’s skin. Wiggling the collar through the dog’s fur will be the best way to ensure a correct fit.
