Begin by stripping about ½ inch of insulation from each end of the broken wires.
Twist the Wires Together:
Twist the exposed ends tightly together. Once connected, trim the twisted section slightly so it fits neatly inside the wire nut.
Secure with the Wire Nut:
Screw the wire nut on tightly to ensure a solid connection. This step creates the internal portion of the splice.
This is the inside of the splice.
You can see the protective gel inside of it, this is what waterproofs your splice.
Insert into the Waterproof Splice Cap:
Push the wire nut and connected wires into the waterproof splice cap. The protective gel inside the cap will surround the connection to seal out moisture. It’s normal if a bit of gel squeezes out around the edges.
Snap the Cap Closed:
Once the wires are fully seated, snap the cap closed securely. Your connection is now waterproof and protected.
Re-bury the Repaired Section:
Place the repaired section of wire back into the ground and bury it. Your electric dog fence is now fully repaired and ready for use.
